Parker Hannifin Industrial Hose Division:
Superior Locking Power in High-Pressure Mining Connections
Thursday, March 22, 2007

Parker Hannifin introduces the SteckO® “D” staple
system which enables high-pressure connections in confined mining spaces while
eliminating torsional stress. The self-retaining “D” staple has a lower profile, giving it a
slimline look that reduces interference issues.
The simple-to-install U-shaped SteckO® “D” staple system features a full staple
groove fill that provides the maximum contact area enabling higher impulse
resistance while working at higher pressures. The kinked “D” shaped end design
with square cross sections provides superior locking power that holds the male and
female end connections together without requiring any spanners or additional pins
for retention.
“Parker’s original SteckO® adapter was the first staple connector used in the mining
industry,” said Craig Chapman of Parker Hose Products Division. “It’s unique
design set the standard for making quick and easy connections with limited tooling
in confined spaces which is essential for maintaining and supporting underground
equipment.”
The SteckO® “D” staple system meets 100R15 requirements for both working
pressure and impulse life and is fully interchangeable with Super SteckO® staple
range. The “D” staple system is available in sizes DN16 to DN50 (1 to 2 inches).
The Super SteckO® adapter was developed to satisfy high-flow, high-pressure
system demands necessary to achieve faster, more cost-effective mining
production.
