ABB officially launched its unique 364 pressure transmitter in the North American market today. The 364’s innovative design eliminates the need for bolts, gaskets and flanges---all traditional leak paths in today’s pressure transmitters. Several standard features include a lightweight all-stainless steel housing and process connection along with a Hastelloy® C-276 diaphragm for corrosive process media. Calibration frequency is greatly reduced by way of an industry leading stability of ±0.15% of maximum span for a ten-year period thus reducing maintenance costs. Pat Cashwell, ABB’s US vice-president of field products, offered the following: “There is simply nothing like the 364 on the market today – and this isn’t just a great product – it’s a philosophy that saves money for our customers beginning at the specification stage and continuing through maintenance and operation.” ABB Customers can reduce their maintenance and commissioning costs by utilizing the 364’s on-board LCD display which includes an “Easy Setup” menu configuration. The 364 also features built-in surge protection, and the industry’s widest terminal block for easy installation. With a base accuracy of 0.06%, seven ranges to choose from and on-board double flow totalization, the 364 adds immediate value in a wide range of applications. Bob Hausler, ABB Instrumentation vice-president of marketing, summed up by saying, “The 364 is truly a groundbreaking product in every dimension. It is also one of our first products to feature the new ABB Universal HMI – standard for all new ABB Instrumentation products - which simplifies operation, maintenance and training; thereby reducing cost of ownership.”
