Application:
At this light rail maintenance facility, workers needed to provide maintenance for 1000 lb. air conditioning units. Space was limited in the area where the maintenance needed to be performed. They were using lift trucks to lift and move the product in this small area, but this was causing damage to the units and the costs were adding up.

The customer considered lift tables but it would take additional manpower to move the product in the work area and it was already taking two workers with the current process.

Gorbel® Solution:
Gorbel provided the customer with a solution that enabled them to move the maintenance area from floor level up to the mezzanine level. To keep the work area clear and provide maximum work space, specially engineered columns were placed on top of the office wall. The workers area extremely pleased with the addition of the work station crane. By supporting the system from the office walls, valuable floor space was saved. The crane not only helps them move the product but also helps to perform maintenance on the units. What was once a two person job is now performed by one person and service turnaround time has been cut in half.
