DBI/SALA & Protecta®: World’s Only “Sealed” Self Retracting Lifeline

DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the Sealed-BlokTM Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL). The sealed design keeps the critical working components, including the brake, power spring and energy absorber, free of dirt, grease, water and chemicals. The sealed design assures that the SRL operates at peak efficiency, no matter how dirty or damp the environment.

    The SRL’s cast aluminum housing and heavy gauge steel end-plates resist damage and provide corrosion resistance and the unit features a built-in carrying handle that makes transport and anchoring safe and easy. The Sealed-BlokTM also provides a secondary “dropped objects protection” attachment point and the large pivoting anchorage stays in line with the load for added security and allows for use with a variety of connecting hardware.

An anti-ratcheting brake stops falls within inches and limits arresting forces to 900 lbs. for added safety. The reserve lifeline system maintains a 2 foot reserve for shock absorption when the entire lifeline is extended. Optional retrieval models with emergency raising and lowering capabilities are also available.

The Sealed-Blok’s self-locking, ANSI Z359.1-2007 compliant swivel hook with impact indicator makes connections easy, and provides a visual means of inspection. An i-SafeTM Intelligent Safety System RFID chip is built-into every unit to track inspections, control inventory and manage information.

In addition, the sealed design will lower overall cost of ownership by extending maintenance intervals and product longevity. It is designed to meet worldwide standards including OSHA, ANSI, CSA and CE.
