Carr Lane Mfg. Co.: Threaded Inserts For Thread Reinforcement or Repair

Key Inserts are ideal for thread reinforcement, especially when the mating stud or bolt will be removed frequently. They provide strong, permanent steel threads in any parent material -- ferrous, nonferrous or nonmetallic. These threaded inserts are often used to reinforce tapped holes in aluminum tooling plates, and come in UNC coarse, UNF fine, metric coarse and solid versions. Locking keys are driven into the parent material during installation, providing a positive mechanical lock against rotation.

Key inserts are also well suited to quick repair of stripped, damaged or worn threads, and are available in steel or stainless steel, and in handy assortment sets.
