Henkel Corp.:
UL-Listed, Spray-Grade Adhesive Bonds Insulation to Metal Cabinets and Ducts
Monday, April 21, 2008

For appliance and HVAC assembly, Henkel Corporation has introduced a new spray-grade, water-based adhesive for wet-bonding insulation to metal ducts and cabinets. Flame retardant Adhesin® 56-5545™ provides excellent wet-tack and offers UL Class 1 certification.
Designed to facilitate attachment of lightweight insulation to metal, Adhesin® 56-5545™ may be applied using a spray gun or hand-applied with a brush or roller. Adhesin® 56-5545™ offers improved metal adhesion over similar products and can be used on painted or unpainted metals. This product meets ASTM E-84 and ASTM C-916 requirements and dries quickly, generally in less than 10 minutes. To allow proper drying, the adhesive must be used with at least one porous substrate.
Adhesin® 56-5545™ can be used on HVAC housing units, metal ductwork, or metal lighting. In appliance manufacturing, the product can be used to bond fiberglass sound-dampening insulation to the metal cabinet of a dishwasher or for other insulation attachment applications.
Adhesin® 56-5545™ is available in 5-gallon pails and 275-gallon tote containers.
